Pacific Water Technology , the Australian Distributor for Longer Pumps, has recently opened a new warehouse and distribution centre in Brisbane.   A large range of peristaltic pumps and parts  will be kept in stock to support the local business. Peristaltic pumps (also known as hose pumps, tube pumps) are a type of positive displacement pump which are widely used in  laboratories, water treatment, chemical processing and food processing industries. It creates a steady flow for dosing and blending and is able to pump a variety of fluids with different viscosities. The laboratory peristaltic metering pumps are capable of forward and reverse pump action. The scope of applications is diverse and listed below are some applications:

Our peristaltic pumps  can handle a wide range of fluids, from hot water and vitamins to  high viscosity fluids like  juice. All the pump heads are designed to facilitate rapid  tubing replacements , a wide selection of the drives  that meet strict sanitation requirements as required by the Food Industry.

Our  peristaltic pumps are ideal for research and development. The pumps are very easy to load and extremely versatile for use in the laboratory or process areas. Repeatability  and high accuracy are just some characteristics of these high precision  metering pumps . Ideally suited for low volume dispensing metering applications.

Our  peristaltic pumps are designed to  negate the risk of cross contamination and non-invasive, making them the pumps of choice in the pharmaceutical industry.

For everyday transferring and metering applications in the laboratory or plant,  our range of heavy duty world class dosing pumps are meet the strict standards  and expectations required by industrial applications.

Portability, versatility  and convenience are built into every LONGERPUMP environmental sampling pump. Choices of hand-operated, DC, or AC systems facilitate simple, accurate sample collection.

Water quality monitoring system consists of automatically sampling water unit, liquid mixture unit, analysis unit, substation control and data-collection, etc.

Two important water quality parameters are COD and BOD – see below.

Peristaltic pump are commonly employed to sample water before treatment and after treatment to measure  relevant parameters.

1 BOD:Biochemical Oxygen Demand

Biochemical oxygen demand or BOD is a chemical procedure for determining the rate of uptake of dissolved oxygen by the rate biological organisms in a body of water use up oxygen. It is not an precise quantitative test, although it is widely used as an indication of the quality of water

2、COD:Chemical   Oxygen  Demand

In environmental chemistry, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) test is commonly used to indirectly measure the amount of organic compounds in water. Most applications of COD determine the amount of organic pollutants found in surface water (e.g. lakes and rivers), making COD a useful measure of water quality.

Peristaltic pumps can also be used to extract minimally disturbed groundwater to monitoring stations. The extracted water contacts nothing but the hose reducing the risk of cross contamination if multiple samples are to be taken. Merely replacing the hose means that the previous sample will not contaminate the sample.

Some of our peristaltic pumps can be purchased on-line, for  enquiries email us on sales@pacificwater.com.au. We also keep in stock a range of spare parts for peristaltic pumps including silicon hose, pump heads, foot switch and fittings.
