Description

Description -RO MEMBRANES 500 GPD( 79 l/h)

500 GPD RO membranes requires a minimum of  480 kPa of incoming water pressure with a maximum TDS of 250ppm.  This membrane element offers reliability, high performance and consistent results for pump-less light commercial applications. All membranes are shipped dry for indefinite shelf life, are 100% vacuum integrity tested and can also be ordered as individually wet tested.

Advantages:

  • Long lifetime on high hardness water applications
  • Fast start-up to reach stabilized rejection
  • High active membrane area and multi-leaf design for optimized performance
  • Dry shipping for convenient handling and long shelf-life

Product Description

We only supply high quality Thin Film Composite reverse osmosis membranes giving excellent performance for a wide variety of applications including low-pressure tapwater purification, single-pass seawater desalination, chemical processing, and waste treatment.

This membrane exhibits high rejection at low pressures with very stable long-term operation.

  • Compact, light commerical RO Membrane
  • 98% stabilised salt rejection
  • Commercial HF5 Ultra Low-Pressure 12″ Membrane
  • Optimum Input Water Pressure range is 50-100PSI (3.4-7 BAR)
  • Average Rejection ratio – 98% (200ppm down to 4ppm under ideal conditions)
  • Nominal 500gpd rating – will produce from 700-1250 litres per day
  • Concentrate Flow ; 500 gpd ( 1:1 ratio)
  • Size 3″ x 12″

This membrane can be fitted into the appropriate filter housings.

When  replacing your existing membrane it is advisable to renew the flow restrictor at the same time. Failure to replace the flow restrictor may result in premature failure of the new membrane.

Membrane Storage

Store membranes in a cool area out of direct sunlight. Membrane storage temperature limits are 22°F-113°F (-5.5°C to 45°C)

Preserve in a solution of 2% AM-88 Membrane Preservative, and 20% AM-225 Glycerine. This will not prevent freezing below 32°F, but the crystals are soft and the membrane is not damaged.

Keep new elements in original packaging.

Examine the preservative in preserved elements every 3 months. If not clear, remove and re-preserve. The pH of the preservative should not drop below 3.

Storage time for preserved elements is 6 months to 1 year.

Storage time for dry (new) elements is unlimited, and these can withstand temperatures below 22°F.

Membrane Shipping

Preserve the element in the plastic bag using the recommended procedure. Make sure the plastic bag does not leak and the element is properly identified.

Make sure the preservative solution is correctly labeled.

Protect the element package from physical damage.

System Shut-Down or Long periods of non-usage

Clean the membranes in the system using the cleaning procedure.

Circulate the preservative solution.

Shut down the system and close valves to prevent air entering the system.

Check preservative once a month.

Note:  When the thin-film membranes manufactured they are dry. These dry membranes have an indefinite shelf life, when stored properly. Membranes become wet when they are flushed or tested with water. Once wet, the membranes can not be dried. The wet membranes must be preserved to prevent the growth of micro-organisms on them. This is done usually by using a 1-2% solution of sodium metabisulphite.

What does a Reverse Osmosis System Remove?

A reverse osmosis membrane will remove impurities and particles larger than .001 microns.
